Persimmon Cookies

Note: Persimmon Cookies are an acquired taste.

Persimmon Cookies:

1 cup persimmon pulp ( you skin them and then puree them)

1 cup sugar

1 cup walnuts (chopped)

2 cups flour

1 tsp cloves

1 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 cup butter

1 cup raisins

1 egg

1/2 tsp salt.

Directions: Mix soda into pulp, set aside. Cream sugar and butter: add egg and walnuts, pulp and raisins. Add flour and spices, drop by spoonfull on greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 for 10-15 minutes.

Nat made these this afternoon. They are good . We had bought the persimmons from Simpson Lane a local flea market. I personally like them. They taste of nutmeg alot to me. Enjoy
